Calendar for November

Here’s a great resource for TLM Faithful in Cleveland.

Fr Doug Brown, pastor of Mary Queen of Peace, has put together a calendar with all the Latin Masses, their times and locations. A quick glance, and you should notice there is a TLM every day of the month. This was truly a great idea! Thank you, Father!

A couple of things to note: St Sebastian’s mass for All Saints Day is high mass, not low. Also, we don’t believe St Rocco’s first Sunday mass is solemn, rather, it’s probably high. Cataloging all these different mass times and locations is a huge undertaking.

All Saints and All Souls Days

On the heels of the feast of the King, we also will celebrate His Court. First, we will recall the Church Triumphant, those beholding the Holy Face in heaven. Indeed, they are the best friends of mankind, having direct access to the Blessed Trinity, relaying our prayers and helping us.

Then will we remember the Church Suffering, the souls destined for heaven, but in a state of purification in Purgatory. The Church always advocates for the Faithful to pray for the dead, and this special day set aside for that embodies some of the richest parts of our holy faith.

All Saints Day is, of course, a holy day of obligation. Although All Souls Day is not.....

It is therefore a holy and wholesome thought to pray for the dead, that they may be loosed from sins.

At Preterm, the abortion mill at 12000 Shaker Blvd in Cleveland, young mothers are lead to the death of their unborn children by women in rainbows vests. Its saddening and frightful.

The short film below contains footage from 10/19/2019. As you will see, its all from the public walkways, all visible by anyone passing by or pausing to breath. Some days and some hours are more eventful than others, but the stench is the same. And the shear joy on their faces, those guardians of gore, as young women approach, full of malicious intent or indoctrinated confusion; its the epitome of hell on earth.

Pray for these women and the young mothers. Pray for the shuttering of this death chamber. Pray for the witnesses who take up the Cross on the sidewalks to counter this death culture. They are an essential element to the battle.

In the end, Her Immaculate Heart will triumph.

Remission of the Sin of Abortion, Oct 26

Rev Bede Kotlinski, OSB, will once again offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass for the remission of the sin of abortion. The flyer below was made by a Friend, and is printer friendly in black and white, and color too. Pass it on, pass it out.

Mass Time Change for Oct 19

Fr. Bede wants you all to know that the Saturday Latin Mass at St. Elizabeth on Oct. 19, 2019, will be at 8am. The Mass is usually at 9am. This time change effects ONLY this particular date. The normal schedule will resume the following week, Saturday, Oct 26, at 9am.

And a special note about Oct 26: another Mass for the remission of the sin of abortion. A mass for this cause was held back in July of this year. Recently, Cleveland TLM Friends received unconfirmed reports that Preterm has experienced some troubling circumstances within since the occasion of that first Mass for the remission of the sin. We should not be surprised by that, if its true. We are reminded that the first step in cleansing a filthy soul is contrition, followed by confession. Simply asking for a clean slate is not enough. Why would it be any different for the blackened soul of our nation?

Upcoming Events at MQP

A Friend sent in the following flyers for upcoming special events being held at Mary Queen of Peace parish. Pay special attention, as you may be required to give notice that you will be attending.

Tradition is NOT a Museum. Period.

As a sentiment shared by more than a few who attended St. Stephen's 150th Anniversary celebration, this is put forth for your consideration.

Noticeable upon entering the church were the vestments hanging on the columns. Beautiful in their own right, the copes were displayed for the edification of the faithful, no doubt. But where have we seen such items displayed for an observer's benefit?

Museums come to mind. All know, it is presumed, that ancient artifacts are commonly placed high, on pedestals even, for curious minds to enjoy and study. You see this in museums of natural history, and museums of our holy priests, too. The vestment below is that of Fr. Nelson Baker, from Our Lady of Victory National Shrine and Basilica in Lackawanna, NY. 

Father Baker was an absolute treasure to that largely Catholic town. He is remembered well, indeed; an entire collection of his personal belongings are frozen in time in a museum under the Shrine. Some might think of him as a type of St. John Bosco for the town that loved him.

Reverend Nelson Baker is dead. His vestments aren't used. They are displayed, remembered, not used anymore. Would Fr. Baker's vestments have ever been displayed when he was alive on this earth? We can't think of any such instance of this.

Now look at the photos below. The copes are being used. And these photos are not from the archives of times remembered. No, they are from the here and now, the times of today, in full use, just as the patriarchs of St. Stephen's used them. 

At least one well-intended-individual commented that these items, along with the precious monstrances the parish owns, are not used anymore, that they are pulled from the vault of the past, for the memorial of these 150 years of the church.

Friends, nothing could be further from the truth. The Faith, and all its trappings, is alive and well, especially at Historic St. Stephen Church. And not just there, but at every Traditional Latin Mass around the world. 

Retired sports jerseys hang from rafters and hold a venerable place in the hearts and minds of fans. But make no mistake, these holy vestments continue to be worn by the heroes of today, as they bring Calvary to the senses of the Faithful. 

Support your local Traditional Latin Mass, and also pray for the canonization of Fr. Nelson Baker.
