Here's the schedule for the Sanctum Catholicam Conference at St Sebastian in Akron on OCTOBER 14, 2017.
Auto Correct Error
Thanks to a Friend for pointing out that the reminder post for the Sanctum Catholicam Conference stated April 14. May God have mercy on Apple's auto correct feature. The post was made from an iPhone, which is difficult enough, and October must have been misspelled and "corrected" to April.
Much apologies. October 14 is the conference.

In Commemoration of 9/11
A Solemn Requiem Mass will be offered for the souls of the victims of 9/11 on Monday, 9/11/2017, at 6:30pm at Immaculate Conception.
When Pope Benedict XVI visited in 2008, he offered this prayer:
O God of love, compassion, and healing,
look on us, people of many different faiths and traditions,
who gather today at this site,
the scene of incredible violence and pain.
We ask you in your goodness
to give eternal light and peace
to all who died here—
the heroic first-responders:
our fire fighters, police officers,
emergency service workers, and Port Authority personnel,
along with all the innocent men and women
who were victims of this tragedy
simply because their work or service
brought them here on September 11, 2001.
We ask you, in your compassion
to bring healing to those
who, because of their presence here that day,
suffer from injuries and illness.
Heal, too, the pain of still-grieving families
and all who lost loved ones in this tragedy.
Give them strength to continue their lives with courage and hope.
We are mindful as well
of those who suffered death, injury, and loss
on the same day at the Pentagon and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Our hearts are one with theirs
as our prayer embraces their pain and suffering.
God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world:
peace in the hearts of all men and women
and peace among the nations of the earth.
Turn to your way of love
those whose hearts and minds
are consumed with hatred.
God of understanding,
overwhelmed by the magnitude of this tragedy,
we seek your light and guidance
as we confront such terrible events.
Grant that those whose lives were spared
may live so that the lives lost here
may not have been lost in vain.
Comfort and console us,
strengthen us in hope,
and give us the wisdom and courage
to work tirelessly for a world
where true peace and love reign
among nations and in the hearts of all.

Labor Day Mass
Please be aware that a Latin Low Mass will be offered at Immaculate Conception on Labor Day, at 8am. The celebrant will pray the Mass of St. Joseph the Worker.
Glorious St. Joseph,
model of all those who are devoted to labour,
obtain for me the grace to work conscientiously,
putting the call of duty above my many sins;
to work with thankfulness and joy,
considering it an honour to employ and develop,
by means of labour,
the gifts received from God;
to work with order,
peace, prudence and patience,
never surrendering to weariness or difficulties;
to work, above all,
with purity of intention,
and with detachment from self,
having always death before my eyes
and the account which I must render of time lost,
of talents wasted,
of good omitted,
of vain complacency in success
so fatal to the work of God.
All for Jesus,
all for Mary,
all after thy example,
O Patriarch Joseph.
Such shall be my motto in life and death.
Amen.

International Centennial Statue
Courtesy of a Friend.....
Come join us to welcome the International Centennial Statue assigned to the North American continent when she begins her pilgrimage in the NE Ohio area at Mary Queen of Peace 4423 Pearl Rd, Cleveland, 44109, 216-749-2323on Friday, September 1st at 7:00pm. She will be accompanied by representatives of the Alliance of the Two Hearts. The evening will consist of consecration, preparation prayers to the SHJ & IHM including the Traditional Latin Mass. The Sacrament of Reconciliation & Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. All night adoration!
On May 13th, 1917 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to 3 shepherd children in Fatima, Portugal with an “urgent” message, which was an appeal for Prayer & Penance in order to end the 1st World War and to prevent a second one. On January 11th of this year, in Rome, Pope Francis blessed 6 statues of Our Lady of Fatima to pilgrim internationally with a renewed, urgent appeal to “...SIN NO MORE, PRAY & DO PENANCE.” She promised 100 years ago that if this was done, her Immaculate Heart would triumph in order to bring PEACE to our troubled world.

Bring a friend! Introduce someone to the Latin Mass. Oftentimes folks aren't available to come to Sunday Masses due to their commitments at their own parishes. But, when there are weekday evening High Masses, it is a great opportunity to reach out and invite a friend, neighbor, and coworker. Let's all resolve to do this!Very good thought!!!

Cleveland Marathon
If you don't know already, the Cleveland Marathon is upon us again this Sunday, May 21, 2017. In the past, it has been a pain for St Stephen parishioners to access the parish for Holy Mass.
St Stephen's website has important information for anyone planning to go there for Mass on Sunday. It appears that the Faithful will be accommodated in their efforts to reach the church and assist at Holy Mass. But we were told the passes would work last year, too. Didn't quite work out that way.

Mass for the Annunciation
Fr. Hardon invites us to meditate upon the Annunciation, which is celebrated on Mar 25.
Our present meditation is on: The Annunciation
It is the same Gabriel that announced to Zachary that Elizabeth, in her old age, would conceive and bear a son. Given the magnitude of this great mystery of the Annunciation, I thought we should have three meditations on the angelic Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The first one will be on the angelic salutation. The second will be on the angelic prediction. And, the third will be on the angelic explanation.
If any event in Sacred Scripture deserves three prayerful meditations, it is surely the Annunciation. This event changed the whole course of human history. Better, this event was the culmination of human history. We are told by the fathers of the Church, God becoming man was more important than God creating man. We should say that before God took on a human habitation in Mary’s womb, the Almighty was indeed present because He is God. He is present because He is God everywhere in the world He made.
The moment He became incarnate, God became present as the God-man, and having instituted the Holy Eucharist on Holy Thursday night, from the Annunciation through the Last Supper, God has decided to remain on earth as the God-man in the Blessed Sacrament until the end of time.
The rest of Fr. Hardon's meditation can be found on The Real Presence.
St. Stephen will offer a Latin Mass on Saturday, Mar 25, at 10am.

As it is a Sunday in Lent, St. Stephen Church is going to observe his feast on Monday, Mar 20, with a Latin Mass at 6:30pm.
O ST. JOSEPH, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, assist me by thy powerful intercession and obtain for me all spiritual blessings through thy foster Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer thee my thanksgiving and homage.
O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee and Jesus asleep in thine arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath.
St. Joseph, Patron of departing souls, pray for me.
"This prayer was found in the 50th year of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In 1505, it was sent from the pope to Emperor Charles when he was going into battle. Whoever shall read this prayer or hear it or keep it about themselves shall never die a sudden death or be drowned, nor shall poison take effect on them—neither shall they fall into the hands of the enemy or be burned in any fire or be overpowered in battle. Say for nine mornings for anything you desire. It has never been known to fail, provided that the request is for one's spiritual benefit or for those whom we are praying for."

It definitely appears to be a rigorous discipline, but it is true that natural diamonds are formed under intense heat and pressure.

Novena, St Francis de Sales
A request from a Friend to be posted:
Since Francis de Sales' feast is coming up, it seems fitting to pray a novena to this great Bishop and Doctor of the Church. We will begin the novena on Saturday, January 21, so that we can end on Francis de Sales' feast day, January 29 (on the old calendar, according to the1962 Roman Missal). In the meantime, please COPY this message and prayer and send it to family, friends, fellow parishioners, and anyone you think would like to join. Please do NOT forward this email.
Hello All,
A few of us are going to pray a novena for the intention of the next Bishop of Cleveland, that God will bless us with a wise and just shepherd, and that, whomever he is, God will bless him with many graces to perform his duties so that he can be a great witness and leader for his flock. We ask that you join us in this spiritual endeavor.Novena to St. Francis de Sales
O blessed Francis de Sales, who on earth did excel in a life of virtue, especially in the love of God and neighbor, I earnestly ask you to take me under your compassionate care and protection. Obtain for me conversion of mind and heart. Grant that all people, especially (the future Bishop of Cleveland) may experience the depth of God’s redeeming and healing love.Teach me to fix my eyes on the things of heaven even as I walk each day with my feet planted firmly on the earth. Help me, through the practice of virtue and the pursuit of devotion, to avoid anything that would otherwise cause me to stumble in my attempt to follow Christ and to be an instrument of the Holy Spirit.Encouraged by your prayers and example, help me to live fully my sacred dignity with the hope of experiencing my sacred destiny: eternal life with God. Receive also this particular need or concern that I now lift up in prayer. (That the future Bishop of Cleveland may be a wise and just shepherd who will bring many sheep to Christ’s fold through his leadership).O God, for the salvation of all, you desired that St. Francis de Sales—preacher, missionary, confessor, bishop and founder—should befriend many along the road to salvation. Mercifully grant that we, infused with the humility and gentleness of his charity, guided by his wisdom and sharing in his spirit may experience eternal life. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Bishop Lennon, Retired
By now, most probably know that Bishop Richard Lennon, Ordinary of the Cleveland Diocese, has retired. His request to retire was accepted by Pope Francis, citing health issues. Please put him in the Veil of Protection of Our Lady.
We are reminded of his charity shown to the TLM Faithful, particularly as he celebrated personally the Sacrament of Confirmation for the TLM community. It was very edificating for many, especially for those who were confirmed and their sponsors.
Please keep Biahop Richard Lennon in your prayers and entrust your petitions to the Blessed Mother that we receive a good, holy bishop to shepherd us.
